By day I am an ecological researcher, specialising in British natural history, habitat recreation and survey. I have written a book on the natural history of Cleethorpes and North East Lincolnshire. In the past I have also composed theme tunes for BBC TV, and continue to compose music.
The artworks you see here were initially inspired by early twentieth century railway posters, and at first I used to digitally render photographs to have the look and feel of either paintings or screen/lino prints. Although my pictures have now diverged greatly from the original style, I have often continued the tradition of adding text to give them a really strong sense of place. These pictures show a strong bias towards the landscape, skies, panoramas and wildlife of the Lincolnshire coast where I have made my home.
All of the images are available in a variety of sizes, as prints, card mounted or fully framed, direct from myself, or using the contact form at the bottom of the page.
A selection of prints are also available for sale from 'Message in a Bottle' in Cambridge Street, Cleethorpes, and some of the images are available as postcards from the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre.
